Cor Challenge FAQ

What is the Cor Challenge?

The Cor Challenge is a 6-day giving event that encourages the University of Dallas community to support the Cor Scholarships Fund. Conceived by the National Alumni Board in 2012, the Cor Challenge was launched to combat a downward national trend in alumni giving and has proven to be a successful annual UD event ever since.

When is it?

The Cor Challenge will take place from Monday, March 27 through Saturday, April 1, beginning at midnight on Monday and ending at 11:59PM on Saturday.

Can I set my own challenge?

Thanks to our generous UD community, we’re able to offer several matches and challenges to encourage giving. If you would like to put forward your own challenge or match, please contact Adam Hengeveld, Director of Annual Giving, at ahengeveld@udallas.edu or (972) 265-5882.

How do I give to an existing challenge?

If you qualify for any of the challenges or matches posted, based on the fields you fill out in the giving process, your gift will automatically count toward it. For example, all members of the Class of 1999’s gifts would count toward a Class of 1999 challenge, and all staff & faculty gifts would count toward a staff & faculty challenge.

What forms of donations are accepted?

MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express donations received through the website as well as in-person gifts delivered to University Advancement from March 27 - April 1 will count toward our goal. Mobile Pay (ex. Google Pay, Apple Pay) is also available for the first time this year on mobile devices.

Is my contribution tax deductible?

Yes, your gift is entirely tax deductible. You will automatically receive an emailed receipt acknowledging your gift.

Where is my gift going?

Your gift goes directly to the Cor Scholarships Fund in support of the studies of our students, both current and future. Giving to the Cor Scholarships Fund greatly assists the university in providing scholarships and ensures we will continue to provide opportunities for students to receive a UD education.

Is there a minimum gift?

There is a $5 minimum donation.

How will the donation be reported on my credit card?

Gifts made during the Cor Challenge will appear on donors' credit cards as The University of Dallas.

What if I already made a gift to UD this year?

Thank you for being part of the UD donor family! We appreciate your commitment and encourage you to make an additional gift of any size during the Cor Challenge. We also need your help to promote the challenge! We have created sample email and social media posts to help you do this more easily, which are located in the Ambassador Toolkit on the site.

What is GiveGab/Bonterra?

GiveGab/Bonterra is a nonprofit giving platform that helps nonprofits to raise money, engage donors and manage volunteers quickly and efficiently. The University of Dallas has partnered with GiveGab/Bonterra again this year to execute the Cor Challenge.

Who do I contact with questions about the Cor Challenge?

The blue chat bubble on the bottom right-hand corner of the Cor Challenge webpage allows you to ask any questions, or you can contact Adam Hengeveld, Director of Annual Giving, at ahengeveld@udallas.edu or (972) 265 - 5882. The chat bubble is most helpful for technical questions about this site or the giving process!
